A huge thanks to the talented performers, brilliant young musicians, enthusiastic volunteers, and energetic audience members who joined us on November 2nd to raise money for children in Liberia. This year's Charity Concert was our most successful yet; we're thrilled to announce that we've raised over £2,000 so far!
From an intimate piano performance by Stephen Kovacevich to a raucous finale by Otto and the Mutapa Calling and young musicians from World Heart Beat Music Academy, our programme celebrated the diversity of London's music scene. We also featured a charity raffle with prizes generously donated by local businesses and artists, and a lively reception with home-cooked Liberian food. Check out our photos from the event here.
With the money raised from this event, Music for Liberia, will be able to support our existing projects, as well as fund an exciting new community grant for a Mother Blessing's Home's college graduate. This grant, run by our partner Standing Side by Side, gives recent grads the opportunity to give back to their community by setting up a their own small business. Look for further updates on the impact of your donations in our next newsletter.
